Mr John Nisbet

Nominated by: Minister for Education and Skills

John is a Secondary School teacher of Biology, Chemistry, Maths, English and Technology. He has served on the Boards of the Childrens’ Rights Alliance, The UCD Medical Centre, Youth Horizons Education Centre and The Union of Students in Ireland.

He has extensive experience in the not-for-profit healthcare and education sectors having worked and volunteered in a variety of organisations for the past 20 years.

As part of his role as CARI Dublin Centre Manager he developed and implemented several educational programmes for Psychologists and health care professionals. He was one of the pilot teachers for the introduction of the new Leaving Certificate Technology syllabus and has tutored other teacher on aspects of this curriculum.

He brings a deep interest in professional education coupled with a strong set of practical logistical skills to the Council table.

He is looking forward to his time on the Medical Council and to serving its membership well.
