Mrs Anne Carrigy has been a Healthcare advisor since 2012 after becoming the Advisor to the Interim CEO Whitfield Clinic as Interim Director of Clinical Services and Nursing in 2011/2012. From 1998 to 2008, Mrs Anne Carrigy was the Director of Nursing & Head of Corporate Affairs at the Mater Hospital. In 2004 /2005, she seconded from her post as Director of Nursing, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital to the interim Health Services Executive as a member of the Change Management Team and became the Director, Serious Incident Management Team, Health Service Executive from 2008 - 2010. In 2010, she became the National Lead, Acute Hospital Services, Health Service Executive, a post she held up to her retirement in December 2010.

Mrs Anne Carrigy has been a member of and has chaired many National and International Committees. In 2002, she was appointed as a surveyor for Irish Health Services Accreditation Board and in October 2005 was appointed to the Board of Irish Health Services Accreditation Board. In 2003, she was appointed as a Board Member of E.N.D.A. (European Nurse Director’s Association). In 2004, she was appointed President of An Bord Altranais in January 2003 and appointed Joint Vice President of FEPI (European Federation of Nursing Professions). In 2005, she was appointed as a Board member of the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing. Two years later in 2007, she was re-elected to An Bord Altranais and in October 2007 was appointed President of An Bord Altranais. During this same year, Mrs Carrigy was appointed to the Medical Council of Ireland. In 2009, she was appointed to the Board of the Mater Foundation. In 2010, she was elected as President of FEPI (European Federation of Nursing Professions) and in 2011, she was appointed to Ordinary Membership of the Governing Body for the Letterkenny Institute of Technology.

Mrs Carrigy was awarded the title of Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Nursing Leadership by University College Dublin in 2004 and was conferred as an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2006. In 2007, she was awarded the Honorary title Adjunct Lecturer in UCD and was appointed Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Nursing Studies in UCD in 2010.
