Ms Katharine Bulbulia
Ministerial Nominee
Katharine Bulbulia has had a multifaceted career beginning in education and moving between politics, public and private sector work. She served as an elected member of the Senate for eight years and was also elected to Waterford City and County Councils. She also served as a senior policy and political advisor in two governments. Katharine has been involved in the area of health care during her career starting out with her membership of the South Eastern Health Board and more recently as Chair of the Crisis Pregnancy Agency and the Irish Blood Transfusion Service Board. She is also currently a member of the Dental Council and the Professional Procedures/ Ethics Committee of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. She is currently serving her second term as a ministerial appointee lay member of Council.
Keenly interested in matters of equality and empowerment, Katharine has a particular involvement with emerging democracies in Africa where she develops and delivers education programmes for African parliamentarians in sub-Saharan Africa.
