I’m having problems accessing the survey!

To complete the survey, your username is your Medical Council registration number (unless you previously changed it). If you have not used the online facility before, you will have received your password via email in recent weeks. If you don’t know or can’t remember your password select “forgot your password” at the right hand side of the landing page. 

There are a number of issues that might arise when you try to access the survey: 

• your login details may be incorrect;  
• your account may be locked;  
• you may not see the survey invitation on your account homepage;  
• you may have forgotten your login details; 
• you may have trouble navigating the website; or, 
• you may be experiencing browser issues.

How long will it take to complete this survey?

It will take about 15-20 minutes to complete “Your Training Counts”.

Can I complete the survey on my phone or tablet?

For the best experience we recommend using a PC as navigation of the survey is smoother this way. Laptops and tablets are the next best ways to view and complete the survey. Due to its layout, it’s best to not use your smart phone to complete “Your Training Counts”. The survey will not work on all versions of the Chrome web browser, so we recommend you complete this on Internet Explorer or Firefox.

I worked on different sites this year. Which one do I talk about in my answers?

We would really like you to refer your answers to the site (and rotation) that you are currently working on. However, if you only just started working on a site within the last month, we would prefer you to give your thoughts about the site on which you completed your previous rotation. We are doing this to ensure that survey responses are about sites (and rotations) that trainees have considerable experience of.

Can I save my answers and return to the survey at a later time?

We recommend completing the survey in one sitting but, yes, you can save answers and return to the survey at a later time. To progress between the different sections of the survey just click on the ‘save and continue’ arrow at the bottom of the screen. If you do take a break, you will be able to continue from the last section you completed when you return to the survey.

Some questions seem a bit personal – do I have to answer them?

We would be really grateful if you could answer all relevant questions in the survey. The instruments we are using in the survey to gauge trainees’ thoughts and feelings need to be fully completed to get the most from them. Although we assure you that all your responses will be treated confidentially, we recognise that some questions may feel personal or sensitive in nature. If you would prefer to not answer a question you can choose the “Prefer not to say” or “N/A” option.

Can I change my answers?

Yes. You can change any answers by clicking the “Back” button and selecting a new answer. You can change your answers as often as you like up until the “Submit survey” button is pressed on the final page of the survey. Once you have submitted your responses you cannot change your answers.
