Application fees
Personal Information
Under Freedom of Information, no charges are likely to arise where requests are made for records which contain personal information or where amendments to records containing personal information are requested. There may be exceptions in cases where the volume of material is large involving hundreds of pages.
Non-Personal Information
A fee of €15 must accompany a request for non-personal records. A reduced fee of €10 applies if you hold a medical card.
Search and retrieval fees and copying charges
You can also be charged for the time spent finding records that are to be given to you and for any costs involved in copying the records to be released. You cannot be charged for the time spent on deciding whether or not a record should be granted to you.

Deposits
If the estimated charge is more than €50 a deposit of 20% will be sought. Final charges are based on the actual search, retrieval and copying of records released. If the fee is likely to exceed the estimate, the requester will be contacted to review the definition of the request.
Internal Review
There is a fee of €75 for an application for an internal review. A reduced fee of €25 applies if you hold a medical card. There is no fee for an internal review concerning personal information only relating to you or in relation to a decision to impose a fee or deposit.
Appeal to the Information Commissioner
There is a fee of €150 for an application for review by the Information Commissioner. A reduced fee for €50 applies if you hold a medical card.
