Medical Council Conference 2011 – “Maintaining Competence, Maintaining Trust”
The Medical Council held a half day conference on Friday 8th April 2011 in Croke Park Conference Centre entitled “Maintaining Competence, Maintaining Trust”.
From May 2011, registered medical practitioners will be legally obliged to maintain their professional competence by enrolling in professional competence schemes and following requirements set by the Medical Council.
The conference was primarily aimed at registered medical practitioners, and was designed to improve knowledge of specific requirements of professional competence schemes. The event was open to everyone with an interest in medical regulation and the work of the Medical Council.
A number of national and international speakers provided informative sessions on topics including professional competence, as well as an overview of the context within which professional competence is being introduced. Presentations from the conference can be downloaded below. A range of videocasts have also been developed including an informative question and answer session and coverage of conference speakers.
