Public Consulataion on Draft Amendments to Section 11 Rules

The Medical Council, having made Registration Rules and Rules Specifying Pre-Registration Examinations and Exemptions in accordance with section 11 of the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 ("the Act"), has drafted a small number of amendments to these Rules, within the provisions of the Act.

The Rules define the manner in which medical practitioners may be registered in the Republic of Ireland.

The Medical Council invited the public to submit their views on these draft amendments to the rules. Following this consultation process and consideration of submissions received, the draft amendments to the Rules will be reviewed and finalised shortly.  Please note that all submissions were subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Acts 1997-2003. 

The deadline for submissions on the draft rules has passed.
