Information for medical practitioners who voluntarily withdrew their name from the Register at any time after 16th March 2009

A registered medical practitioner may, at any time, apply for the withdrawal of their name from the Register on a voluntary basis.

Applying to restore to the Register following voluntary withdrawal

Medical practitioners wishing to restore their name to the Register having previously voluntarily withdrawn from the Register should complete the new RestoreApp form and submit it with the required documentation and fee.  The provisions of section 52 (4), (5) and (6) of the Act will apply.

When applying to restore their name to the Register, Medical Practitioners are not required to re-submit copies of their basic (primary) degree and other qualifications which were already assessed by the Medical Council. Please see paragraphs 8.4 and 32.1 of the guide to Registrator.
