The role of the Medical Council is to safeguard the health and safety of the public by ensuring high standards of professional conduct, performance, and education among doctors. One of the ways we carry out this role is to look into complaints raised about the health, performance and conduct of individual registered doctors in Ireland.

The Medical Council’s complaints process is not designed to resolve disputes or disagreements between doctors and their patients.  Most of the time, such matters are resolved by talking the matter through with your doctor.
