Alternative Document Formats
What information is available in alternative format?
All information available to the public can be made available in alternative format where it is practical and where funding permits. Such documents may include application forms, information leaflets, reports, explanatory documents and other such public interest/service documents.
Making an alternative format request
If you already have a contact at the Council looking after your case/service, you may ask them OR you may contact the Access Officer directly
To help us facilitate your request, we will need:
- Your name, contact details and preferred method for contact.
- What alternative format you are requesting.
Alternative written formats available are:
- Accessible format such as HTML and other electronic formats such as plain text
- Large print version in English (at least 16 point)
- High contrast
- Easy-to-read version
- If requesting an alternative written format, please tell us the name of the document or the URL site address from our website.
- Please tell us whether you wish to receive the alternative written format on paper or digitally by email.
- If requesting large print or high contrast please tell us your preferred font, font size, font colour and background colour.
- We will try to facilitate your request in a timely manner however some alternative formats may take longer than others to produce or arrange
Alternative spoken formats may be sourced:
- Irish Sign Language interpretation
- Real time captioning
- If requesting an alternative spoken format for meetings, or public inquiries, please provide as much notice as possible as some alternative services can take some time to arrange depending on availability of service providers.
- We will try to provide the requested alternative spoken format as soon as possible.
- On occasions, it may not be possible to facilitate your request on time, cost or other grounds. If this happens, we will offer you other options if available.
Publication formats
Whenever possible, documents and downloadable files on this website will be published in accessible formats.
When web page (HTML) versions of documents are not fit for purpose, these documents will be published in Portable Document Format (PDF), Microsoft Word (DOCX) or Microsoft Excel (XLS).
If you cannot access these documents in the formats that are available on this website, please contact the Access Office.
